Mission
EDCL's mission is to:
  • Provide support to individuals and their families from Elmira District Community Living
  • Facilitate and advocate for meaningful community participation, in keeping with each person's life vision.

Lifelong Supports
EDCL will work collaboratively with individuals and families, utilizing the principles of person-centered planning and ensuring that individuals and families are:

  • Supported on a lifelong basis
Respect and Dignity
EDCL will respect the people we support and honour their dignity and EDCL will advocate with others to do the same.
 
Community Development
EDCL will facilitate the choices of individuals and promote inclusion by:
  • Educating and engaging the community

Importance of Families
EDCL will encourage families to assume an ongoing and significant role in the planning and provision of supports for their family members, with the guidance of our staff. EDCL will place emphasis on informing, engaging and assisting younger families.
 
Staff and Volunteers
EDCL will:
  • Recognize staff members, the Board of Directors, Committee Members, other Volunteers and Families for their contributions
  • Support their professional growth through agency-sponsored and third party training and development

The Elmira District  Community Living supports over 100 individuals and their families in the Townships of Woolwich, Wellesley and Mapleton.

The Elmira District Community Living is a not-for-profit organization funded through the Ministry of Community Family and Children’s Services and charitable events and donations.
