Children's Resource Program
The Elmira and District Association for Community Living provides Resource Teacher services to children with developmental delays between the ages of 2 and 5 years. This service is available to families living in the townships of Woolwich and Wellesley.
What Supports do we offer?
Ideally the program is conducted in the child’s community preschool or the nearest preschool or Nursery school program with the full support of a Resource Teacher. The length of the program is dependent on the perceived need of the child and availability of space. It can range from one to four half days a week.
Where are these supports provided?
We provide in-home consultation and in the child’s community preschool or nearest preschool or Nursery school program.
What are the benefits?
- Individual Program Plan designed by parents and teachers
- Assessment and monitoring carried out by all parties
- In home support where required
- Enhancement of child’s social contacts.
